Thinking about a webshop?

Our daily lives are happening more and more online. More and more service providers are offering web services in some way or another: switching electricity providers, selling overstock at a discount in a webshop, second-hand websites specialising in one niche or another, extending your brand online with a specific set of products that are sold online only, ...

As such - the basic concept is simple: why not start selling your products online, in as much an automated way as possible? That's what the promise of the internet was all about, no? Once the webshop has opened, and you start offering your wares, almost everybody will shop at your virtual shop, isn't that right?

Well ... yes, and no.

First of all - the concept of an online webshop is pretty simple. You offer products, categorize them, and start selling them at a price that people should be willing to pay on the internet. But then, every now and then, some questions pop up at meetings we have with our clients, and some turn out to be rather important, especially in the long run.

Questions such as:

  • Do your potential clients trust you enough with their money, especially with a first sale?
  • Have you taken into account that a delivery fee has to be added to every shipment, and how this might impact your brick-and-mortar store prices?
  • How do you integrate your own stock management software that you run internally with an online shop?
  • How do you set up online payment transactions, and how do you organize refunds?
  • Do gift vouchers need to used all at once, or can a customer shop until his voucher has been spent?
  • How do you get the word out that you've opened up an online shop?
  • How can you have people even spend money, if they don't know yet you're having a massive reduction in your virtual store?

As we notice that more people are becoming increasingly interested in setting up shop on the web, we think we might be able to help out. We've created a couple of online shops for some of our clients in the past, and we were able to make most of them successful, in the short or in the long run.

Code d'Or can develop your online inventory application and organize your financial transactions and invoices. We can design your virtual shop in such a way as to be able to maximize your sales potential. On the consulting side - we help you to run advertising campaigns based on keywords and your potential target audiences, as you define them. Code d'Or can host and run your online store on a dedicated or a shared hosting platform, and provide the necessary credentials to make sure financial transactions are secure, and your customers are safe.

If all of this sounds interesting, do contact us for a first step in scoping the functional requirements you're having, and how the total offering could be set up. We're sure we can help out, and can make it happen as a partner or service provider.
